Manager, Solution Lifecycle Management - Duke Cancer Institute

Responsibilities

Manage and mentor the Solution Lifecycle Management team within DCI Information Systems, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture
Maintain a team culture that encourages open communication, creativity, and professional development
Establish regular communication methods and meetings with staff and stakeholders; provide leadership and mentoring
Provide staff with clear measurable goals, monitor performance and quality of work; assign duties and cross-train as needed
Lead cross-functional collaboration and project coordination across teams and stakeholders
Clearly convey technical information to non-technical audiences, both orally and in writing
Serve as an internal customer account manager, translating requirements into actionable solution roadmaps and deliverables
Lead the end-to-end lifecycle management of software solutions, including planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and retirement
Direct and coordinate business requirement sessions with stakeholders to document functional, non-functional, and technical requirements
Evaluate innovative IT systems, such as AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics, to improve research and patient outcomes
Analyze, design, and optimize business processes and IT infrastructure to support solution delivery and organizational goals
Oversee beta testing, upgrades, and system enhancement projects; ensure solutions meet compliance, data governance, and organizational mandates
Lead multidisciplinary teams and drive consensus on solution priorities and data needs across clinical, business, and research domains
Provide user technical support and training; ensure staff certifications and compliance with SOPs and regulations
Seek opportunities for continuous learning and knowledge expansion in data tools, AI, and informatics

Required

Bachelor's degree in a related field OR four years of equivalent technical experience
Five years of directly related IT experience
Strong leadership and team management skills
Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Preferred

Experience with research systems, healthcare analytics, or clinical trial management systems
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
Skills in Python coding, database design/programming, and AI implementation
Knowledge of software development processes (including Agile) and product management
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities
