Responsibilities
Design, build, and deliver structured training programs for Landscape Construction and Landscape Maintenance teams, with the heaviest emphasis on Landscape Construction operations
Serve as a front line trainer actively working with crews in the field to teach proper techniques, standards, and best practices
Develop role-based training paths for New Hires, Crew Members, and Crew Leaders
Create and deliver hands on training for Softscapes Installation, Hardscapes, Irrigation Installation, and General Routine Maintenance
Partner with Operations Leaders to identify skill gaps and develop targeted training solutions
Build and maintain onboarding training programs that directly support new hire success and retention
Support leadership development by training and coaching Crew Members into future Crew Leaders
Standardize training content, tools, and expectations across both divisions while allowing for division specific needs
Measure training effectiveness through performance outcomes, quality metrics, and retention data
Develop and deliver weekly safety tailgate content aligned with current operations and seasonal risks
Lead monthly safety training sessions and coordinate quarterly and annual safety training initiatives
Ensure training content supports OSHA, federal, and state safety requirements
Partner with leadership to reinforce safe work practices through training, accountability, and coaching
Support incident investigations through corrective training and retraining as needed
Maintain safety training documentation and compliance records
Work closely with Directors, Field Managers, and Crew Leaders to align training with operational goals
Act as a trusted resource and coach for frontline leaders
Support consistent execution of training standards across branches and crews
Promote a culture of learning, accountability, and continuous improvement
Build scalable training programs, tools, and resources that support growth across current and future branches
Continuously evaluate training effectiveness and improve content based on feedback and performance
Leverage technology and best practices to enhance training delivery and consistency
Stay current on industry trends related to landscaping operations, training, and workforce development
Perform additional tasks and other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the Roebuck Landscaping
Establish a structured New Hire Training Program for Landscape Construction and Landscape Maintenance within the first 90 days
Build and implement role specific training tracks for Softscapes Installation, Hardscapes, Irrigation Installation, and Routine Maintenance
Be consistently present in the field delivering hands on training and coaching to crews and Crew Leaders
Launch and maintain standardized weekly safety tailgates, monthly safety training, and quarterly or annual safety programs
Partner with Operations Leadership to drive measurable improvements in skill development, productivity, quality, and crew readiness
Support and accelerate the development of Crew Members into Crew Leaders through intentional training and coaching
Improve new hire retention through structured onboarding, early skills training, and ongoing development
Ensure safety training content and practices remain compliant with OSHA, federal, and state requirements
Continuously refine training programs to support long term operational excellence and company growth
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in landscaping, construction, or field based operational training
Proven ability to train and coach crews in real world field environments
Strong working knowledge of Landscape Construction and Landscape Maintenance operations
Excellent communication, coaching, and facilitation skills
Strong organizational skills with consistent follow through
Comfortable spending the majority of time in the field
Ability to thrive in a fast paced, growth-oriented organization
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Training, Operations, Construction Management, Safety, or a related field
Experience training Softscapes, Hardscapes, Irrigation Installation, and Routine Maintenance crews
OSHA certification or equivalent safety training
