Assistant Director, Tech Developer
Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) is an educational non-profit dedicated to closing opportunity gaps for young people. The Assistant Director, Tech Developer will lead the SEO Tech Developer team, focusing on recruiting, training, and preparing university students for internships and full-time jobs in the tech industry while ensuring the program's sustainability through fundraising efforts.
Non-profit Organization Management
Responsibilities
Manage and coach 2-3 direct reports and provide skip level management to part-time, instructional staff members
Lead engagements with other internal SEO teams to ensure ideal recruiting and career development outcomes
Represent Tech Dev among other SEO professional program peers and provide support where programs intersect
Manage external relationships, including training platform vendors, curriculum providers, evaluators and researchers
Lead the annual budgeting and planning for the Tech Dev program
Manage budget to ensure financial strength and flexibility
Develop and implement operational processes to improve efficiency and impact
Regularly assess program goals and outcomes, adjusting operations as necessary
Maintain oversight of staff and volunteers, including Tech Dev Advisory Council
Ensure adequate applicant volume and quality to yield a highly selective class in line with budgeted resources
Ensure the continuous improvement of program offerings to keep Tech Dev programming at cutting edge of servicing program participants and addressing evolving workplace requirements
Modify curriculum based on shifting industry trends and requirements
Ensure participants receive high value training
Support participants in applying for competitive tech industry internships, especially in software development
Lead the annual TechDevCon
Collaborate with Development team and Senior Director, Leadership & Tech Pathways to support revenue generation for a $2 million+ budget through annual fundraising efforts and cultivation of relationships with potential corporate sponsors and funders
Work collaboratively with Development team to identify grant opportunities and provide programmatic updates and metrics for proposals to secure single and multi-year grants for program initiatives
Through collaboration with Development team, gain insights into sponsor/funder interests and trends, and align program needs and design, ensuring changing business needs are met through our curriculum topics and work placement criteria
Communicate regularly with sponsors to ensure ongoing support of program objectives
Collect, analyze, and track program information to support reporting with partners and to create stronger partner relationships
Provide regular reporting of program data to SEO colleagues and external sponsors
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
4-5 years of direct program management and pre-professional coaching/mentoring experience, ideally within corporate tech; partnerships experience a plus
2+ years of people management experience within roles of increasing autonomy and responsibility
