LEMIT - Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas is seeking Student Workers for their Academic & Research Technologies department. The role involves providing technical support for audio/video devices and assisting in maintaining classroom hardware.

Responsibilities

Provides technical support and maintains audio/video devices and peripherals
Assists with installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all classroom hardware while ensuring optimal system performance
With supervision, installs, configures, tests, maintains, and troubleshoots minor level 1 audio/video hardware and software
Responds to service requests regarding hardware and software issues
Maintains an accurate record of all requests for assistance
Provides prompt and accurate information for requests of assistance while maintaining confidentiality
Properly routes requests that need further escalation or attention from full time employees and/or supervisor
Provides guidance and assistance to co-workers
Other duties as assigned

Required

Must be able to work between 15-28 hours per week and will ideally be available Monday – Friday within the hours of 7 am – 10 pm

Technical skills and use of required technology
Familiarity of Windows and Mac operating systems
Familiarity of basic hand/power tools
Able to carry loads up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working on ladders between 6-10ft
Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred but not required
Must be a current SHSU student enrolled in six (6) semester hours with a minimum SHSU GPA of 2.5
Must be able to demonstrate basic computer competencies and knowledge

Preferred

Freshman, Sophomore, Junior
Direct IT job experience, SHSU Lab Assistant experience, or customer service experience preferred
