Responsibilities

Technical knowledge: completing calculations and analyses; developing design details; preparing drawings, specifications, sketches, and cost estimates; selecting equipment; writing proposals and reports; and communicating with clients
Interpersonal savvy: effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to align technical work with project objectives while fostering strong, productive working relationships

Required

bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field with academic coursework focused on power or control systems
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certified or ability to obtain certification within one year
familiarity with AutoCAD, Excel, and Word
possession of a current, valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future

Preferred

1–3 years of experience working in a design capacity on projects directly related to the job responsibilities described above at a consulting engineering or industrial organization
minimum GPA of 3.2/4.0
experience with automation systems such as Rockwell Automation Logix platform, Studio 5000, and FactoryTalk software
experience modeling power distribution systems using SKM and/or ETAP
experience with the power, fuels, mining, and/or manufacturing industries
