Post-Doc Research Associate
UNC University Libraries is a global leader in higher education known for its innovative teaching and research. The Post-Doc Research Associate will contribute to projects focusing on natural hazards and disasters, particularly extreme weather events and their impacts on communities in the Southeastern US, involving tasks such as literature review, data analysis, and developing research communications.
Responsibilities
Contribute to projects on natural hazards and disasters
Focus on extreme weather events and their impacts to communities in the Southeastern US
Work closely with Dr. Antonia Sebastian and Dr. Miyuki Hino
Conduct literature review, designing analysis to meet research objectives, and data analysis and visualization, including spatial and statistical analyses
Evaluate research results for validity and reliability and oversee project progress
Help develop research papers, presentations, and other communications products
Qualification
Required
Doctorate in a discipline related to the area of assignment, or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions
Demonstrated proficiency in R or Python
Strong interpersonal skills
Written and verbal communication abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
Academic research experience
Interest/familiarity with climate change

Data analysis and related public policy
