Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders to define user requirements for scenarios
Identify dependencies and create design documents for products, applications, services, or platforms
Develop, optimize, debug, and refactor code to improve performance, maintainability, and effectiveness
Apply subject-matter expertise to product features and partner with stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive project plans, release plans, and work items
Serve as Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) to monitor systems for degradation, downtime, or interruptions; alert stakeholders and initiate restoration actions for simple and complex issues. Mentor engineers by sharing best practices and playbook guidance
Proactively learn and adopt emerging technologies, patterns, and solutions to improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance while driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years of software engineering experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
Preferred
Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python; OR Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years of technical engineering experience coding in these languages; OR equivalent experience
3+ years designing, implementing, and troubleshooting cloud-based services and solutions
Development experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud
Hands-on experience with Azure Resource APIs (e.g., Storage, EventHub, CosmosDB)
Experience deploying and monitoring Azure resource health, including alerting and diagnostics
Experience designing and developing microservices at scale
