Postdoctoral Research Scholar - Forest Carbon
Kinsey Institute is seeking a highly-motivated postdoctoral fellow to conduct research focused on reducing bias and uncertainty in the measurement and monitoring of forest carbon uptake. The role involves synthesizing network observations and integrating ground-based data with remote sensing information, while also requiring data analysis and mentoring of students and technicians.

Conduct research focused on reducing bias and uncertainty in the measurement and monitoring of forest carbon uptake
Synthesize network observations, including forest inventory data and flux tower data
Integrate ground-based observations with remote sensing information describing forest structure and function
Perform computationally intensive data analysis
Prepare and submit journal articles
Mentor students and technicians working on the project
Qualification
Required
Earned a Ph.D. in environmental science or engineering, ecology, environmental informatics, or a related field at time of appointment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated experience working within collaborative teams
Experience analyzing ecological time series (e.g. flux tower data) and remote sensing datasets
