TSA Occupational Safety and Health Data Analyst

The TSA Occupational Safety and Health Data Analyst will transform large safety datasets into decision-ready analytics and support regulatory compliance and risk prioritization.

Responsibilities
Perform advanced quantitative analysis using Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, Power Query, pivot tables, data modeling, data normalization, and variance analysis across large datasets
Apply statistical methods to occupational safety and health data, including Pareto analysis, frequency and severity analysis, rate-based comparisons, and identification of leading and lagging indicators
Calculate, validate, and analyze OSHA injury and illness metrics, including TCIR, DART, LTCR, severity rates, and other federally recognized performance measures
Ensure technically accurate OSHA recordkeeping determinations, including case classification, recordability decisions, and validation of data used for internal and external reporting
Maintain high-integrity datasets within TSA’s Safety Information System (SIS) and Salesforce, ensuring completeness, consistency, and audit-ready quality standards
Develop and maintain performance dashboards, scorecards, and analytical products, including Safety Scorecards, Safety Performance Reports, and executive-level trend analyses
Translate complex analytical outputs into clear, data-driven insights and visualizations for senior leadership, supporting risk-based decision making
Partner with OSH Regional Managers and Headquarters stakeholders to improve data governance, standardization, and analytical methodologies
Utilize Power BI for data visualization and dashboard development and Power Automate for workflow automation and data integration (highly desirable)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in data analytics, statistics, engineering, safety sciences, or a related quantitative discipline is highly desired
Two (2) years or more Occupational Health & Safety experience
Demonstrated experience in a data analyst, performance analyst, or metrics-driven role, preferably within a regulatory, compliance, or operational risk environment
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for large-scale data analysis and reporting
Strong technical understanding of OSHA injury and illness recordkeeping rules and rate calculations
Experience working with enterprise data systems (e.g., Salesforce or comparable platforms)
Ability to communicate complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
Preferred
Experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, dashboard development)
Experience with Power Automate or similar workflow automation tools
