Purchasing Manager - Centralia

Responsibilities

Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with company objectives and production schedules
Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team, fostering accountability and performance excellence
Oversee supplier selection, qualification, and performance management to ensure reliability and value
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to optimize cost and mitigate risk
Collaborate with Production Planning, Engineering, and Operations to forecast material needs and resolve supply issues
Maintain accurate purchase order data, lead times, and delivery tracking in ERP systems
Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, supplier performance, and inventory control
Analyze market trends and supply conditions to proactively manage risks such as shortages or cost fluctuations
Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and applicable regulations
Assist with budgeting and identifying cost-saving opportunities
Resolve supplier, invoice, or receiving issues in coordination with other departments
Participate in cross-functional projects and process improvement efforts
Maintain purchasing procedures and documentation
Support inventory optimization and prevent material shortages
Represent Purchasing in internal meetings or vendor interactions as needed
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required

5–8 years of progressive purchasing or supply chain experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
Proven success in supplier negotiation and contract management
Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment strongly preferred
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills

Preferred

Experience in industrial equipment, compressor, or pump manufacturing environments
APICS/CPIM, CSCP, or PMP certification
Experience leading ERP optimization or transformation initiatives
