Publicist/Senior Publicist, Little, Brown & Company
Hachette Book Group is a leading book publisher, and they are seeking a highly motivated and creative Publicist or Senior Publicist to work closely with the Director of Publicity for the Spark and Voracious imprints. The role involves creating and implementing publicity campaigns for various titles, focusing on building relationships with media and authors, and collaborating with editorial and marketing teams.

Responsibilities
Publicizing approximately 14-18 books per year – largely nonfiction (cookbooks, lifestyle, health/wellness, psychology/social sciences) with some fiction (commercial, literary). This includes executing all aspects of a publicity campaign, including booking national and local media, managing author tours, and producing events
Developing and maintaining close working relationships with members of the press (broadcast, radio/podcasts, print/digital, trades), seeking out new media outlets and brainstorming creative ideas on how to best publicize titles
Working closely with authors on all aspects of publicity, including briefing authors for interviews and accompanying authors to publicity engagements
Collaborating with LB’s editorial and marketing teams on all book launches
Strategizing media lists, creating press materials (press releases, pitch & galley letters, author Q&A’s, etc.), and pitching media
Collaborating with key in-house departments, including Publicity, Marketing, Sales, and Subsidiary Rights
Developing and maintaining relationships with booksellers around the country, as well as off-site and lecture event venues
Planning and executing author appearances and details for author pre-sell events and tours
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 4 years of publicity experience in professional public relations or book publishing
Strong knowledge of national and regional media, with a keen ability to identify emerging media and points of impact
Interest in and passion for nonfiction books, in particular
Proven ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines, with a demonstrative ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
Knowledge of the media, marketplace and competition
Ability to escort authors as needed, including the ability to travel domestically with authors when needed
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; Google Drive applications, and publicity-oriented media databases (MuckRack, Podchaser, Netgalley, etc.)
Must have a fluency of social media networks
