New Grad, Entry LevelNew England College is seeking a Financial Aid Counselor to support the Office of Student Financial Services. The role involves providing information about financial aid and payment options, performing needs analysis, and awarding financial aid according to regulations.
Responsibilities
Responds to daily incoming inquiries, calls and emails; ensures response time is meeting expectations
Researches and responds to concerns expediently
Performs high quality student service in the SFS office and at Campus events including but not limited to orientation, exit counseling and other issues relating to financing higher education
Provides outreach to students to assist with payment options, financial aid applications, and other student account requirements to cover account balances
Maintains a working knowledge of federal financial aid regulations and related office policies and procedures
Perform federal and institutional needs analysis, verify accuracy of information submitted on the FAFSA ; award Title IV and institutional funds to eligible students
Execute return to lender procedures for federal aid recipients who withdraw within a given term
Administer or provide back-up for the work study program
Qualification
Required
Title IV Financial Aid knowledge
Strong Customer Service Skills
Microsoft Office
Ability to multitask in a time sensitive environment
Bachelor's degree
Preferred
Banner experience strongly desired
