Research Assistant

Responsibilities
Conduct research and organize data as a member of a multidisciplinary biomedical engineering team
Generate and maintain cells for immune-competent microfluidic organs-on-chip
Work closely with postdoctoral fellows and students from the Eshleman School of Pharmacy
Plan, conduct, and evaluate scientific research and data in a laboratory setting
Manage projects, plan experimental designs, and develop assays and methodologies
Perform experimental procedures, data collection, and analysis
Manage the laboratory and contribute to publications and reports to the sponsor
Train and supervise staff, students, and others in specific techniques and experiments
Qualification
Required
Masters or PhD in biology, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent
Experience in mammalian cell culture and prior work in an academic or industry research laboratory
Prior experience analyzing data and conducting basic statistical analysis
Preferred
Experience with laboratory management, including purchasing and inventory management
Cloning and transfection or transduction of mammalian cells and/or biochemical analysis including PCR and Western Blot
Project management and experience with dissemination, including the preparation of publications and/or reports, and communication of results or instruction of junior staff
