Senior Scientist - Radiology
The University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking a Senior Scientist in Radiology to advance MRI research within the Cerebrovascular Imaging and Analytics Laboratory. This role focuses on investigating cerebrovascular pathology, improving understanding of neurobiology related to Alzheimer’s disease, and involves developing advanced MRI methods and collaborating with various specialists.

Responsibilities
Perform preprocessing and pipelining of functional and structural MRI and DTI data; prepare and analyze data for presentation; work at the command-line in for neuroimaging processing and analysis (FSL, AFNI, in-house software tools)
Assist with modifying computer scripts and analytical pipelines to enhance data processing, reproducibility, and study-specific objectives
Contribute to manuscript preparation, grant proposals, and dissemination of research findings, providing interpretation of imaging results
Conduct literature reviews and maintain expertise in emerging neuroimaging methods to inform project development and improve analysis approaches
Mentor and guide analysts, trainees, and research staff in neuroimaging methods, data analysis workflows, and best practices
Qualification
Required
Nine (9) years of relevant experience. Education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis
Knowledge of MRI methods and application to neuroscience as demonstrated by application materials
Experience with a command line environment (e.g., UNIX, MATLAB, Python, R)

A PhD in engineering, biomedical engineering, medical physics, physics, chemistry, biostatistics, computational neuroscience or related field
Two (2) years of experience in neuroimaging data processing
Two (2) years of UNIX and shell scripting experience
Two (2) years of experience with Python, MATLAB, and/or R programming language
Experience with fMRIPrep, DTIPrep, and QSIPrep
Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, for data analysis
