Manager, Rates and Regulatory Affairs
Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. The Manager of Rates and Regulatory Affairs will oversee regulatory applications, manage relationships with regulatory authorities, and ensure compliance with laws while maximizing earnings at the local state level.

Responsibilities
Responsible for the company’s regulatory applications and filings process to obtain all necessary permits, licenses, certificates, authorizations, and rate approvals
Manage strategy and processes associated with general rate case management
Establishes and maintains good relationships with regulatory authorities
Liaises with regulatory authorities and commission staff and participates in industry forums to influence regulatory policies
Ensure alignment of regulatory strategies to all key local functional areas to ensure regulatory compliance and to maximize shareholder value
Lead and continually improve upon rate making activities and planning
Develop tactics to maximize rate recovery of prudently incurred capital and operating expenses
Participate in industry associations and develop leadership positions for Liberty Utilities
Act as primary witness on rate and regulatory related filings at the local regulatory commissions
Manages the development of strategies associate with revenue requirements, cost recovery, rate making, customer programs, and gas/electric/water rate issues
Responsible for the team of Analysts maintaining reporting and statistics related to tariff, revenues, sales, and compliance reporting
Qualification
Required
8+ years' of experience in regulatory or an adjacent function, preferably within the utility industry
Advanced understanding of revenue requirement and cost recovery programs
Ability to evaluate team strengths and weaknesses, conduct skills-gap analysis and professionally develop the capabilities of a team of analysts
Ability to thrive through transformation processes and demonstrated experience executing through organizational change
Willingness to perform individual contributions, in addition to the daily management of your team
Preferred
Bachelor's degree with a preferred focus in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related area of study
