SUPERVISORY TRAINING INSTRUCTOR (INSTRUCTIONAL METHODS)

USAJOBS is seeking a Supervisory Training Instructor at Goodfellow AFB. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, overseeing the planning, directing, and organizing of training activities for nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Faculty Development Flight, while also providing administrative supervision and performing instructor duties.

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of Faculty Development instructors ensuring that initial skills/supplemental/advanced training complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities
Represents the Faculty Development Flight with a variety of installation and functional area organizations
Instructs students through assigned blocks of instruction at basic or advanced levels
Researches, develops, revises and recommends updates to Faculty Development course materials in accordance with established learning objectives

This is a Supervisory Position. A 1-year probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement
Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station or military or commercial aircraft
Position encompasses both resident and mobile training worldwide
May be required to work on special projects as directed by the supervisor
This position has been identified as a CCAF faculty position requiring a minimum of an Associate's Degree
The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours (evenings, weekends, and/or holidays)
Gain and maintain a TOP SECRET SCI security clearance
This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems
Knowledge of a wide range of the principles and practical methods, techniques, and tools of instruction to teach a variety of students with a range of differences such as diverse ages, backgrounds, and levels of interest
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices
Knowledge of instructional design, materials development for assigned courses and knowledge of tests and measurement principles, techniques, and objectives
Knowledge of computer technology in relation to training programs for faculty, instructional methodology, technology insertion methods, equipment and techniques, communicative processes, developmental approaches, group dynamics, presentation delivery, human behavior and counseling techniques
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to analyze problems and develop appropriate solutions, to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level
