Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Mass Properties Models for launch vehicles and subsystems
Perform weight and balance analysis, including estimating and optimizing mass properties for launch systems
Establish design target weights and track compliance throughout the project lifecycle
Maintain mass properties accounting systems and provide trend analysis for program leadership
Support proposal evaluations, design reviews, and operational documentation
Conduct component weighing and verification to improve accuracy of estimates
Present findings in technical and program reviews
Regular and close interaction with other groups and departments to gather needed information and communicate status
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related STEM field
0–5 years of experience in an engineering field
Familiarity with MS Office products
Detail oriented and able to work with others to get information
Good verbal and written communication skills
Basic CAD understanding and usage
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
Preferred
Active SECRET security clearance
Experience in programming in Access VBA and Excel Macros
Able to work projects and complete on time with minimal oversite from manager and leads
Experience with mass properties in a school or work project, including concepts of mass, weight, center of gravity, moments of inertia, products of inertia, and what causes those to change
