Responsibilities
Assist in the installation, configuration, and management of network hardware including Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls such as Cisco ASA and Juniper devices
Support the deployment and maintenance of VPNs, WANs, LANs, and MPLS networks to ensure seamless connectivity across multiple sites
Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds and PRTG; troubleshoot issues related to DNS, DHCP, IPsec, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and other routing protocols
Implement and manage network security measures including firewall rules, Cisco ISE policies, PKI certificates, LDAP authentication, SSO configurations, and encryption protocols such as SSL/TLS
Assist with system administration tasks on operating systems including Windows Server, Linux distributions (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu), Solaris, and macOS
Support virtualisation environments such as VMware vSphere and Citrix; contribute to network architecture planning for high availability and load balancing solutions
Collaborate on network installation projects involving SFTP/FTP/HTTPS protocols and remote access software to ensure secure connectivity
Contribute to the development of scripts using PowerShell or Bash for automation purposes; utilise Ansible for configuration management
Participate in the real-time monitoring of network infrastructure using SolarWinds or PRTG; escalate issues as necessary to ensure minimal downtime
Maintain documentation of network configurations and procedures following ITIL standards; assist in implementing SDLC processes for ongoing projects
Qualification
Required
Must have 3 years experience in Networking
This job requires a 100% travel within United States
A recognised qualification in Computer Networking or related field (e.g., CCNA or equivalent)
Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking principles including DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, VPNs (IPsec), QoS and MPLS
Familiarity with Cisco networking devices such as routers (Cisco routers), switches, ASA firewalls; knowledge of Cisco ISE is advantageous
Experience with network security concepts including IDS/IPS systems and encryption methods like SSL/TLS
Working knowledge of operating systems including Windows Server environments and Linux distributions (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu)
Ability to support remote access solutions such as SSH, SFTP/SCP; experience with VMware vSphere or Citrix is desirable
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail; ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Willingness to learn new technologies such as Azure cloud services or AWS platform integrations
Preferred
Valid UK driving licence preferred but not essential
