Responsibilities
Design and develop comprehensive cloud-based data architectures utilizing GCP services such as BigQuery, Data Lake, and Data Fusion to support enterprise analytics initiatives
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, translate business needs into scalable technical solutions, and ensure alignment with organizational goals
Lead the implementation of data modeling strategies, ensuring optimal database design for NoSQL databases like Cloud Bigtable and Cloud Datastore, as well as traditional relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle
Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines using tools like Informatica, Spark, and custom scripts in Java or Python to facilitate seamless data ingestion from diverse sources including Hadoop clusters and cloud storage
Architect secure, high-performance data warehouses leveraging Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other cloud-native tools to support advanced analytics and reporting
Implement best practices in database design, data governance, and data security to ensure compliance with industry standards
Utilize scripting languages such as Bash (Unix shell) for automation tasks and troubleshooting
Stay abreast of emerging big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and linked data methodologies to continuously enhance our data architecture landscape
Qualification
Required
Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform services related to big data and analytics including BigQuery, Data Lake, Data Fusion, and Pub/Sub
Strong knowledge of NoSQL databases such as Cloud Bigtable or Datastore for flexible schema design
Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies fostering iterative development and continuous improvement
Programming skills in Java and Python for building scalable data processing applications
Extensive experience with SQL Server, Oracle databases, and database design principles for structured data management
Familiarity with Informatica for ETL processes alongside Spark for large-scale data processing
Knowledge of linked data concepts to enable semantic interoperability across datasets
Experience working with Hadoop ecosystem components including HDFS for distributed storage solutions
Strong understanding of Data Modeling techniques essential for designing efficient Data Warehouses and Data Lakes
Ability to develop complex SQL queries for analytics purposes across diverse database platforms
Bash scripting skills for automation tasks within Unix/Linux environments
Preferred
Proficiency in AWS cloud services is a plus for multi-cloud environments
