Interconnection Engineer
SolSearch Energy is a fast-growing distributed generation developer focused on scaling energy storage. They are seeking an Interconnection Engineer to manage interconnection communications, application submissions, and utility studies, ensuring technical accuracy and proposing mitigation strategies.
Responsibilities
Own all utility interconnection communications and deadlines
Track applications submitted by origination and ensure technical accuracy
Review screening results and system impact studies
Identify grid constraints early and propose practical mitigation strategies
Challenge and validate utility cost estimates
Translate technical findings into clear development recommendations
Work closely with design engineers on SLDs and assumptions
Support portfolio-level planning and grid strategy decisions
Help build repeatable processes as the platform scales
Qualification
Required
A strong foundation in electrical engineering or power systems
2–5 years exposure to DG solar, storage, or distribution-level work
Comfort reading single-line diagrams and study results
Curiosity about how the grid actually behaves in the real world
Confidence asking questions, pushing back, and thinking critically
A bias toward ownership and follow-through
