The Facilities and Equipment Lead will support internal logistics engineering for new product introductions, ensuring optimal material delivery and collaboration with manufacturing and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for equipment and automation

Work with the materials strategy team in developing standard and custom equipment

Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, maintenance, and suppliers

Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies

Source and evaluate suppliers for all material handling equipment

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms to ensure cost-effective procurement

Manage vendor relationships and oversee compliance with specifications and quality standards

Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of all material handling equipment

Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements during installation

Validate equipment performance and handover to operations

Track project costs and ensure adherence to approved budgets

Prepare regular status reports for stakeholders and management

Drive continuous improvement in project execution and cost efficiency

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field

5+ years of project management experience in manufacturing or industrial environments

Proven expertise in tooling and industrial equipment procurement and installation

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment specifications

Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, SmartSheet or similar)

Strong communication and leadership abilities

Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives

Experience supporting vehicle launch, retooling, or model change programs

Experience with external logistics methodologies

Working knowledge of throughput simulation and material flow optimization
