Human Resources Generalist-Payroll Specialist (Korean Speaking)

Woori America Bank is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Officer-Payroll Specialist who speaks English and Korean fluently. The role focuses on managing employee payroll, benefits, and personnel administration to support the organization’s efficient and compliant operations.

Financial Services

Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end payroll processing utilizing Paychex system ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Administer employee benefits programs, including Group Health Insurance Plans & 401(k) retirement plan administration, including employee enrollment, changes, and coordination with plan providers
Prepare and administer COBRA documentation for eligible or terminated employees
Monitor and follow up on employee allowances and referral fee payments
Handle employee relations issues with professionalism and confidentiality; assist in conflict management and resolution
Handle HR processes related to employee hiring, transfers, promotions, and separations
Prepare employment-related documentation and ensure proper filing and record retention
Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files in compliance with company policies and legal requirements
Support compliance with labor laws, employment regulations, and internal HR policies
Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors regarding payroll, insurance, and benefits matters
Assist with internal audits, reviews, and HR-related reporting

Required

3-7 years of experience in human resources management, payroll administration, and benefits administration
Strong knowledge of employment, labor law, benefits, insurance, and 401(k) administration
Excellent communication skills in Korean and English; ability to convey complex information clearly across diverse audiences
Ability to handle confidential information discreetly; strong organizational skills for data collection and project coordination
Language: Korean (Required)
Ability to Commute: New York, NY 10001 (Required)
Work Location: In person

Preferred

Experience with talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and training & development initiatives
Prior experience in the banking or financial services industry strongly preferred
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred; relevant certifications are a plus
Human resources: 3 years (Preferred)
