GDD Accounts Manager
ICANN is responsible for managing relationships and contracts with registry operators and registrars. The GDD Accounts Senior Manager will lead cross-organizational projects, build strategic relationships, and ensure compliance with policies and contractual obligations.
Responsibilities
Participate in a highly talented team of global professionals based in various locations around the globe
Build and maintain positive working and strategic relationships with senior-level staff of contracted parties and other stakeholders within the ICANN community. Demonstrate the ability to leverage these relationships when needed
Understand the domain name marketplace and serve as a subject matter expert within ICANN, both internally and as requested by community members, in person and in writing
Interpret policies and agreements and support staff efforts to implement new policies in consultation with relevant stakeholders within the organization and community
Make tactical decisions and provide input into strategic decisions related to registry and registrar services and engagement programs
Develop scorecards on strategic and/or sensitive topics which are widely shared internally for alignment
Interface with technical, operational, legal, and other cross-functional teams to support the Services team to refine existing services and define and develop new services
Support the Services team in implementing consensus policy recommendations developed by the community
Ensure adherence to, and occasionally creation of, budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements that may necessitate the coordination of multiple individuals from cross-functional departments
Represent ICANN by meeting and collaborating with contracted parties and other stakeholder groups at domain name industry events
Participate in and lead workshops and other sessions during ICANN meetings and regional events
Create and provide regular metrics to manage, measure, and report progress to stakeholders, management, and staff
Participate in and lead cross-functional project teams to identify and drive change
Identify contracted parties' most pressing requirements and then use this knowledge to suggest and work cross-functionally within ICANN to drive change
Be a project owner motivated to complete projects within a timeline
Be an exceptional team player and be comfortable working in a highly diverse, multicultural, and dynamic environment

Qualification
Required
Strong oral and written communication skills in the English language with demonstrated ability to effectively inform and influence
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, diverse team environment
Broad understanding of technical issues involving the Internet and DNS industry
Ability to adapt to new technologies, organizational and procedural changes and to work independently with minimal supervision on complex, non-routine issues
A creative problem solver with experience negotiating with internal and external partners
Experience with analyzing and interpreting policy and contractual provisions
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to develop and manage work on concurrent projects
Demonstrates a strong work ethic and is committed to seeing tasks through to completion
Commitment to organizational principles of accountability and transparency
Bachelor's Degree required
Minimum eight (8) years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or a Minimum six (6) years of experience with a Master's Degree
Fluency, both written and spoken, in English is required
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally 15% of the time, or as needed
Preferred
Master's Degree (MBA) preferred
Study in Public Policy desired
Broad knowledge and experience in public policy research and analysis is a plus
Experience working in the domain name industry is a plus
Experience working with contracts and legal documents or managing vendors is a plus
Prior international experience preferred
Fluent written and spoken language skills in any of the other official United Nations languages is strongly preferred
