Responsibilities

Inspect, operate and maintain various facility equipment throughout the hospital, such as HVAC, emergency power and fire protection systems
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for stationary engineering related questions and concerns
Ensure that policies and procedures are communicated and upheld by staff
Monitor department activities and provide coaching and feedback to team members when appropriate
Operate a high-pressure, steam powerhouse
Monitor and maintain HVAC related source and distribution equipment such as steam, chilled water, water chemistry, humidification and air handling, etc
Monitor and respond to fire protection systems
Respond to all emergency calls
May test and monitor emergency generator and transfer equipment
Assist co-workers with station engineering-related questions, comments and concerns in a Subject Matter Expert capacity

Required

High School Diploma or GED
Third Class Stationary Engineers License from State of Ohio
Six years of experience in steam distribution systems, condensate systems, large chiller systems, water distribution systems, cooling towers and/or air handling systems
Working knowledge of blueprints and electrical schematics
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
Ability to move/transport items weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
Ability to inspect equipment
Ability to install, repair and maintain systems, equipment, fixtures and/or structures
Ability to distinguish color
Ability to climb ladders

Preferred

Knowledge of fire protection equipment, building automation equipment, emergency generators and controls
