Project Engineer – Telecom / Network Engineering (Spanish Required)

Claro Enterprise Solutions is seeking a hands-on Network-focused Project Engineer to lead the technical implementation of complex telecommunications solutions for enterprise clients across Latin America. This role involves being the primary technical authority during customer onboarding and implementation, working closely with various teams to solve complex network problems and ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

Analyze and validate technical solutions involving MPLS, SD-WAN, Internet, P2P, QoS, IPv6, and Multicast
Review backbone and customer network designs; identify risks, gaps, and optimization opportunities
Recommend technical standards, configurations, and architecture improvements
Serve as the technical lead during customer implementations
Define configuration requirements, software/firmware versions, and licensing needs
Coordinate across regional engineering teams and multiple vendors
Lead and participate in test/turn-up calls and technical review sessions
Troubleshoot routing protocols ( BGP, OSPF, EIGRP ) and network services in real time
Use monitoring systems and diagnostic tools to validate successful deployment
Automate repeatable implementation tasks (Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar)
Contribute to improving deployment playbooks and templates
Maintain accurate project documentation using internal tools
Prepare technical reports and hand off final configurations to Service Assurance teams

Required

Fluency in Spanish and English
Experience designing, developing, and implementing enterprise networks (LAN, WAN, cloud, and software‑defined networking)
Hands-on experience with SD‑WAN or SASE platforms such as Cisco Viptela, Fortinet, or Meraki
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and core network protocols
Working knowledge of protocols and technologies such as DNS, DHCP, SNMP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, HSRP, VRRP, MC-LAG, LDP, and RSVP
CCNA Certified

Preferred

CCNP (strongly preferred)
CCIP
Juniper JNOS
ITIL v3 or v4
Portuguese a plus
