Heavy Equipment and Lubrication Technician

The Heavy Equipment and Lubrication Technician will monitor equipment, conduct oil analysis, and support the Reliability Centered Maintenance Program while collaborating with maintenance and operations personnel.

Responsibilities
Monitor equipment including SX/EW, Smelter, Concentrator, Crushing/Conveying, Water System, Mine (Shovels, Drills, Haulage), Rod Plant, Refining, and outlying areas
Conduct oil analysis using various laboratory instruments and associated software
Load, process, and analyze oil sample data using lab management software
Collect, analyze, and report data using technologies such as ICP-OES, FTIR, viscometers, particle counters, titration (TANT/TBN), crackle tests, digital microscopes, and PQ Index
Prepare reports and presentations, plan daily tasks, and manage maintenance plans/orders using current CMMS software
Support the RCM Program and its continuous development; train other personnel on program elements
Communicate effectively to provide and implement constructive feedback and participate in mentoring
Collaborate with Maintenance and Planning groups
Learn how RCM/PdM technologies interrelate with lubrication data
Perform other duties as required
Qualification
Required
Seven (7) years of journeyman-level mechanical maintenance experience with industrial equipment (pumps, motors, gearboxes, pulleys, etc.)
Working knowledge of moving and rotating equipment from both operations and maintenance perspectives, mechanically and electronically
Ability to read, understand, and apply information from technical manuals and reference materials
Completed required academic and practical competencies and demonstrated aptitude; ability to pass written skills assessments as needed
Strong teamwork skills with a commitment to safety and environmental standards
Effective written, verbal, and electronic communication skills
Proficient in Windows applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Possess or able to obtain Level I Oil Analysis certification within one year of hire
Valid state driver's license (or able to obtain one)
Ability to safely handle chemicals, solvents, and gases
Preferred
High School diploma or GED
Previous experience working with chemicals, in a lab, or performing oil analysis
Hands-on experience with instruments such as:
Perkin Elmer 7300V ICP-OES spectrometer
Perkin Elmer Oil Express FTIR
Spectro LNF particle counter
Cannon Mini-QVX viscometers
Vapor Pro XL water analyzer (AZ Instruments)
Kittiwake Analex pqL
Mettler Toledo titrators
Certifications in oil analysis or relevant training (preferably from Noria)
Experience with Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
