Process Engineering Manager

Responsibilities
Develop manufacturing technology and improve processes for wire and cable production. Perform engineering tasks involving data analysis, problem-solving, process evaluation, cost reduction, and capital project justification and implementation
Initiate ideas and recommendations for assigned projects. Recommend efficient use of equipment, materials, and manpower. Diagnose manufacturing problems related to machinery, materials, and processes; implement corrective actions
Drive scrap reduction initiatives, focusing on material usage. Develop improved manufacturing methods to reduce scrap and salvage materials efficiently
Support special projects including cost reduction studies, equipment utilization, downtime reduction, quality audits, and training of operators in new techniques. Maintain vendor relationships to stay informed on new technologies
Implement and support operational improvement programs on the shop floor, including: Product quality improvements, Efficiency and productivity enhancements, Process improvements and cost reductions, Control of material usage and scrap reduction
Coordinate outside maintenance contractors for machine repairs in the Irradiation Department
Maintain and update machine documentation and prints
Manage spare parts inventory and test equipment for troubleshooting and repairs
Train production personnel on machine operation and maintain training documentation (manuals, posted instructions, computer screens)
Develop and maintain product processing documentation for each machine
Mentor, coach, and lead a team of process engineers to drive continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Manufacturing Technology, or Associate degree with relevant experience
Approximately 10 years of technical experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Production, or related roles within wire and cable manufacturing
Strong verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels
Ability to combine technical and management disciplines effectively; leadership potential is essential
Organized and disciplined approach to problem-solving
Ability to work long hours in a sedentary position (sitting, computer work, repetitive motions)
Ability to lift at least 25 lbs
Comfortable working in a noisy manufacturing environment and collaborating with team members
Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE when onsite
