Applications and development intern
Ingredion Incorporated is seeking an ambitious student to join their R&D team as an Applications and Development Intern for summer 2026. The intern will support new product development and create customer valued solutions by developing food formulations and prototypes, conducting laboratory experiments, and preparing technical reports.

Responsibilities
Operating laboratory equipment safely and with little direct supervision to support project needs
Maintaining a clean, safe work environment; following guidelines for good housekeeping and safety
Managing work project(s) to meet project timelines and deliverables
Analyzing and understanding data, results and scientific literature to advance projects
Working collaboratively with Technical Service team members and other internal colleagues to meet target objectives
Performing laboratory experiments, conduct data analysis and interpret results to make recommendations to project team and support the project
Presenting prototypes, project status, updates and outcomes to team and key stakeholders
Making presentations and writing technical reports
Qualification
Required
Must have completed at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior or non-graduating senior
Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment
Ability to work 40hrs per week during the summer internship term
Reliable transportation required to get to and from facility each work day
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written technical communication skills, e.g. making presentations and writing technical data/reports
Working knowledge of basic computer software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Ingredion does not intend to sponsor work visas with respect to this position or to provide this position as OPT or CPT
Be a currently enrolled student in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program. If currently enrolled in an undergrad status, must have completed at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior or non-graduating senior
Preferred
Progress towards a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food or Chemical Engineering or related field with a minimum GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 preferred
Knowledge of common food processes, food ingredient functionality and ingredient interactions preferred
Experience with hands-on food concept development with laboratory and/or pilot plant equipment is a plus
