Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive reviews of pooling and servicing agreements (PSAs) to document advancing requirements, recoverability terms, and contractual limitations
Extract, interpret, and document contractual language related to servicing advances, reimbursement priority, and recovery waterfalls
Review and assess the client’s existing advance policies and recoverability guidelines for alignment with contractual requirements
Build and maintain a detailed matrix of PSA contractual terms and overlay servicing rules to support the development of a corporate advance recoverability waterfall
Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and risks between contractual terms and current corporate advance practices
Develop and recommend process and policy enhancements to improve how servicing advances are recorded, tracked, and recovered
Support the design and development of a centralized database to document servicing advances and recoveries
Partners with technology, data, and reporting teams to define requirements, assist with coding logic, and produce operational and management reports
Ensure documentation is audit-ready and supports regulatory, investor, and internal governance requirements
Collaborate with servicing operations, accounting, legal, and compliance teams to ensure accurate interpretation and implementation of PSA terms
Qualification
Required
Strong knowledge of mortgage servicing, including mortgage servicing corporate advances, administration, recoverability, and investor guidelines
Demonstrated experience reviewing and interpreting pooling and servicing agreements or similar mortgage-backed securities documentation
Ability to translate complex contractual language into clear, actionable business rules and decision matrices
Experience working with corporate advance policies, recoverability frameworks, or reimbursement waterfalls
Strong analytical and documentation skills with exceptional attention to detail
Preferred
5+ years of experience supporting model development, data mapping, or system buildouts related to mortgage servicing corporate advance models
5+ years of experience and familiarity with database development, reporting tools, or coding concepts used to track financial transactions
Background working with mortgage servicing investor reporting, mortgage servicing accounting, or default servicing
Experience collaborating with technology and data teams in a financial services environment
