Specialist III, Information Technology System
Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) is seeking a full-time Specialist III in Information Technology. The role involves providing advanced technical support, including the installation and maintenance of hardware and software systems to support educational services for students.

Responsibilities
Perform highly complex duties to support the ongoing functionalities and processes of designated area; develop and implement systems and procedures to achieve assigned goals; create, monitor, and maintain systems to facilitate the success
Organize and analyze a variety of highly complex program functions; input student, compile a variety of data reports from assigned computer system; establish and maintain various automated records and files; review and edit materials for accuracy; assist with special projects related to designated programs as assigned
Serve as an area expert for program participants, students and others concerning assigned services and functions; interpret, apply, and explain program services, policies and procedures to students, staff, other schools and outside agencies
Provide analysis of various reports; problem solve when performing calculations, maintain records and prepare reports within scheduled timelines; present and disburse information and reports as assigned
Consult and collaborate with administrator and director to assess specialized needs and make recommendations for system changes. Participate in the development and management of project budgets and their spending activity on a per project basis; provide historical data and projections as directed
Assist Director or Administrator in providing routine work direction, training, and guidance to program/department employees, students, or consultants; coordinate the scheduling of, temporary employees; provide guidance to other program/department staff on procedural variance decisions; help mediate situations to diplomatically resolve issues; act as a liaison for district auditors providing records upon request; ensure Director or Administrator is kept informed; and act as lead staff according to established guidelines when appropriate
Prepare and deliver oral presentations concerning assigned program services and related functions as assigned
Research, gather, compile and collate statistical information and other data as directed
Maintain current knowledge of program and organizational laws, rules, regulations and policies
Communicate with staff, other departments and outside agencies to exchange information, resolve issues and coordinate activities
Serve on a variety of District committees as requested. Participate in district all staff events including but not limited to all campus team building day, convocation, state of the college address, senior day, and graduation
Perform complex technical support, installing and maintaining hardware/software. Participate in technology policy and security compliance efforts — ensure systems meet standards for data protection, backup, access controls, and campus regulatory requirements. Troubleshoot advanced issues and provide guidance and training to junior staff, along with a diverse user base including faculty, staff, and students
Provide general support for employees and students by answering questions regarding computers, copiers, printers, and telecommunications equipment; help end users with setup and use of technology equipment, including classroom media, instructional technology, and mobile computing resources; communicate and answer questions regarding system status, downtime, operating procedures, policies, best practices, and available resources; keep informed of all technology changes which affect end users; prepare departmental process and procedures, training materials, and other documentation; and provide individual end-user training
Assist with IT Security by monitoring and deploying patches and other software updates. Maintain user accounts and menus for the VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) phone system; follow procedures to add and modify login and email accounts; maintain equipment inventory; prepare and deploy computers and other equipment; route requests and support the setup, modification, and termination of employee technology access; maintain detailed maps of the LTCC network

Required
Any combination equivalent to: associate degree with 3 years of progressively responsible experience

Specialized applications: Knowledge of specific applications like Active Directory, Intune, server management, VoIP systems, and potentially enterprise-wide systems like Student Information Systems
Troubleshooting: Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving for hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
Network Systems: Local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN), network equipment installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
Perform a variety of specialized duties in the development and implementation of designated functions and services in support of an assigned program
Participate in related training, data collection and program evaluation functions
Compile, assemble, maintain and disseminate a variety of resource and informational materials
