Student Support Coordinator

Responsibilities

Provide individualized academic success coaching for students associated with MRSP cohorts
Assist students in creating and monitoring Academic Success Plans
Maintain confidential case records and track student progress
Coordinate referrals to appropriate campus resources, including advising, counseling, and tutoring services
Utilize CSI and related tools to identify and proactively engage at-risk students
Support outreach and follow-up processes for students flagged through early-alert systems
Support the analysis of student retention data to inform programming and interventions
Facilitate workshops on academic skills, time management, self-advocacy, and motivation
Assist in the development of accessible student success materials in digital and print formats
Support major exploration programming and transitions for students seeking new academic pathways
Partner with academic advisors, faculty, and staff to coordinate student support efforts
Collaborate on campus-wide retention initiatives and participate on committees or task forces as assigned
Collaborative programming with the Assistant Director of Intercultural Affairs focusing on first-generation college students
Contribute to assessment, reporting and continuous program improvement
Participate in departmental meetings, training, and professional development
Stay informed of best practices and emerging trends in student success and retention
Serve as a liaison to the America Needs Your Organization
Serve on the First-Generation Student Working Group

Qualification

Required

Bachelors degree in the humanities or social sciences
1-3 years in a student leadership or graduate assistant position (i.e., Residence Life, Student Ambassador, Teaching Assistant)
Experience working in an advising, mentoring, or recruitment area supporting first-generation and at-risk students
Experience in academic coaching/ study skills training as well as working with student web-based academic information systems and learning management platforms
Experience in program development/coordination
Working knowledge of mentoring, retention and student success programs
The ability to use technology to streamline services and offer efficient and effective communication to students
Strong working knowledge of how to maximize social media and content development platforms
A familiarity of academically advising, specific to at-risk, first-generation, and traditionally underrepresented students
Experience in creating and facilitating presentations and workshops as well as a background in providing equitable and differentiated learning experiences
