Special Projects Manager

Responsibilities
Lead Pre-Bond/Levy & Long-Range Facilities Planning Initiatives Plan and manage long-range programming, pre-bond and levy efforts from concept through election readiness, including development of planning and election timelines, coordination of facilities task forces, and preparation of technical and community-facing materials aligned to each phase of the planning process
Client Development & Market Engagement Identify, cultivate, and support new school district and public-sector client relationships; assist with proposal development and interviews; and represent the firm at conferences, workshops, and outreach events across the K-12 education landscape
Community Engagement & Facilitation Design and implement inclusive engagement strategies—such as open houses, listening sessions, surveys, and stakeholder committee facilitation—that build trust, elevate community voice, and inform responsible capital planning decisions
Strategic Messaging, Data Analysis & Election Readiness Analyze demographic trends, enrollment projections, election history, and polling data to inform strategy; develop clear, accurate, and legally compliant messaging; and support the creation of ballot-ready materials and public information resources
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Integrated Delivery Collaborate closely with internal communications, graphics, data analytics, and project management teams to deliver cohesive planning documents, engagement tools, and digital resources that are clear, compelling, and aligned with client goals
Trusted Advisor & Project Stewardship Serve as a trusted advisor to district leadership and staff by anticipating challenges, maintaining accountability to schedules and deliverables, and ensuring planning efforts remain transparent, community-informed, and aligned with district values and voter expectations
Qualification
Required
5–10 years of direct experience overseeing or supporting school district bond and/or levy programs, long-range facilities planning, capital planning, or closely related public-sector initiatives
Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications, Planning, Public Administration, or a related field required
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and confidently with a wide range of audiences, including school boards, district leadership, staff, community members, and external stakeholders, both in written and verbal settings
Strong understanding of K-12 facilities planning, capital funding mechanisms, and public-sector decision-making processes, including school board governance and community accountability
Proven ability to translate complex technical, financial, and facilities-related information into clear, accessible, and compelling language that builds understanding and trust
High degree of political awareness, discretion, and judgment when working in complex, diverse, and sometimes contentious community environments, particularly in election-related contexts
Strong project management, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously
Experience interpreting and applying demographic data, enrollment trends, election results, and survey or polling data to inform planning, engagement, and messaging strategies
Preferred
Master's degree preferred
Project management and/or public engagement certifications (e.g., CCM, IAP2, or similar) are preferred but not required
