Senior/Principal Signal Processing Scientist

Pareto Frontier, LLC is a startup technology solutions firm developing cutting-edge capabilities for Tactical Wireless Communications and other areas in the Defense & Aerospace Industries. They are seeking a Senior or Principal Signal Processing Scientist to conceive, develop, implement, and verify advanced signal processing-oriented solutions across multiple technology areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RF Signal Processing and experience in transitioning algorithms to hardware implementation.

Responsibilities

Proven ability to innovate and apply novel solutions to challenging problems within the RF Signal Processing / Wireless Communications field
Signal Processing expertise (PhD or 10 years min experience): Deep understanding of DSP fundamentals such as: Time/Frequency domain representations and analysis, Digital filtering/resampling techniques, fixed point processing, and computational complexity analysis
Experience working as the systems-architect responsible for transitioning algorithms to FPGA/Software Engineering team for hardware implementation
Experience working in an electronics lab environment: knowledge and ability to use RF test equipment (such as oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, and vector signal analyzer)
Ability to independently conceive new ideas and solutions, with demonstrable performance results according to standardized figures of merit, to complex technical problems
Take ownership of assigned tasks and driving them to completion under tight schedule constraints
Ability to do research on your own and/or through collaboration
Strong ability to communicate with customers and team members
Motivation to go above and beyond assigned duties

Required

Proven ability to innovate and apply novel solutions to challenging problems within the RF Signal Processing / Wireless Communications field
Signal Processing expertise (PhD or 10 years min experience): Deep understanding of DSP fundamentals such as: Time/Frequency domain representations and analysis, Digital filtering/resampling techniques, fixed point processing, and computational complexity analysis
Background in Statistical Signal Processing (Detection and Estimation Theory) is highly desired
Experience working as the systems-architect responsible for transitioning algorithms to FPGA/Software Engineering team for hardware implementation
Experience working in an electronics lab environment: knowledge and ability to use RF test equipment (such as oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, and vector signal analyzer)
Ability to independently conceive new ideas and solutions, with demonstrable performance results according to standardized figures of merit, to complex technical problems
Take ownership of assigned tasks and driving them to completion under tight schedule constraints
Ability to do research on your own and/or through collaboration
Strong ability to communicate with customers and team members
Motivation to go above and beyond assigned duties
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a 'US Person' as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required
Must meet eligibility criteria to obtain and maintain a Secret-level clearance (post-hire), typically only awarded to U.S. citizens
All candidates must also successfully pass a Commercial Background Investigation (CBI)

Preferred

Extensive Background in RF/Wireless Communications-oriented Signal Processing
MS/PhD is preferred but Bachelor's with 5-10 years minimum experience will be considered based on the individual
