Senior Engineer, Sustaining Project Engineer (Onsite)

Responsibilities

Confidently provide clear, concise communications with customers, peers, and Collins leadership
Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts to identify causes and mitigation plans for issues affecting program productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction
Provide customer support for Field Failure investigations
Pursue cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability
Consolidate and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project
Liaise between project management and planning, project teams, and production line management as necessary to support plant output
Prepare project estimates and project plans
Manage project schedule, budgets and status. Plan, direct and oversee activities of an Integrated Project Team (IPT)
Support Quality investigations as necessary when piece-part issues affect product deliveries
Understand and execute test procedures. Analyze, interpret, and report out test results
Verify internal processes are being executed to reduce probability of engineering setbacks
Assess customer issues and develop resolutions that meet Collins and customer objectives
Read and interpret drawings, provide mark ups, and coordinate drawing releases
Documents best practices into engineering standard work

Required

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

Preferred

Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Aerospace Industry experience
Mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical hardware
Experience working with cross functional teams across department and business units
Experience and/or understanding of the engineering change process
