Chemical Engineer (Process)

Neville Chemical Company is a leading manufacturer of low molecular weight thermoplastic and liquid resins. They are seeking a Chemical Engineer (Process) to monitor production processes, ensure quality standards, and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Responsibilities

Monitor equipment and processes of production units to ensure products are manufactured according to quality, safety and environmental standards; investigate and report/troubleshoot process problems to identify probable causes and implement corrective action
Supervise units and train operators during start-up phase of new or revised operation to ensure equipment is meeting designed capabilities
Analyze process data and provide monthly reports regarding production unit uptime, throughput, and quality metrics. Submit monthly reports to management in a timely fashion
Research and/or investigate ideas to improve processes and recommended action necessary to modify existing operations in order to increase production, reduce costs and conserve energy
Compare process data with R&D to reformulate product blends and solve product quality issues
Develop and/or update Standard Operating Procedures for identified units within the plant to ensure they are consistent with regulatory standards and Company policies
Implement Management of Change (MOC) including all OSHA required documentation such as piping and instrumentation (P&ID) mark-ups, equipment specifications, process hazard analysis data and pre-startup safety reviews

Required

Two to four years of relevant work experience required
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering required
Demonstrate problem-solving and interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communications
Have basic understanding of pumps, mixers, instruments, etc
Must be able to climb and work in close quarters
Must be eligible for Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC®) clearance

Preferred

Ancillary knowledge of process control systems is preferred
