Responsibilities
Own the electrical/controls scope for new equipment installs and major line upgrades—developing budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation plans
Design single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and PLC/HMI architectures that comply with NFPA 70E, OSHA, and corporate standards
Specify, purchase, and program Allen-Bradley/Siemens PLCs, VFDs, servo drives, and safety systems to achieve OEE, uptime, and energy-use targets
Manage vendor RFQs, purchase orders, FAT/SAT activities, and on-time delivery of materials
Supervise installation contractors, perform power-up, I/O checkout, and start-up; then train maintenance and production teams
Track cap-ex spend, update cash-flow forecasts, and complete post-mortem reports capturing lessons learned for future projects
Champion a zero-incident culture by embedding LOTO, arc-flash, and machine-guarding best practices in every project phase
Lead or support kaizen events and CI teams to drive process optimization and sustainability initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's in electrical engineering, Controls Engineering, or related discipline
3–6 years of experience delivering electrical systems for industrial capital projects—preferably in packaging, paper, or other high-speed manufacturing
Proficiency with PLC/HMI programming (Rockwell Studio 5000 or Siemens TIA Portal), MCC design, and power distribution up to 480 V
Working knowledge of project-management methodologies, earned-value tracking, and root-cause analysis (8D, Five Why)
Strong communication and vendor-management skills; ability to translate technical detail to non-engineers
Valid driver's license and ability to travel 40 % throughout Wisconsin
