Amalgamated Bank is focused on transforming their Finance team through data and technology. The Data Analyst will develop automation solutions and advanced reporting to enhance efficiency and support strategic decision-making within the department.

Banking

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement automation solutions to streamline finance processes and reduce manual effort

Identify and execute opportunities for efficiency gains through technology and AI-driven tools

Build and maintain advanced financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs using Tableau and other BI tools

Develop predictive models and trend analyses to support strategic decision-making

Oversee data pipelines, including imports/exports, scheduled jobs, and data table maintenance

Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all systems

Support the rollout and integration of new tools (e.g., Slack, Tableau, AI solutions) within Finance

Train and guide team members to maximize adoption and usage of new technologies

Partner with stakeholders across departments to understand reporting needs and deliver actionable insights

Communicate complex data findings in clear, business-friendly language

Stay current on emerging technologies and best practices in data analytics and automation

Proactively recommend and implement enhancements to existing processes and tools

Maintain comprehensive documentation for all automation workflows, data processes, and reporting standards

Required

Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science, or other related field

Proven experience in data analytics and process automation, preferably in the banking industry

Proficiency in data analysis tools/software (e.g., Excel, SQL) and BI tools (e.g., Tableau)

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Preferred

Experience with Axiom or other database reporting tools
