Site Development & Stormwater Management Engineer

Responsibilities

Develop Site and Stormwater Management plans and implement innovative solutions to address complex environmental challenges
Work as a key member of multi-disciplined teams, including structural/foundation engineers, architects, mechanical engineers, and electrical engineers to develop complete design solutions for clients
Design and manage successful stormwater infrastructure and site development projects
Develop grading plans and site plans for construction of greenfield and brownfield sites, including all applicable stormwater management infrastructure, balancing cut/fill analysis, erosion and sediment control plans, and details pertaining to construction
Conduct site visits and field investigation
Develop Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP)
Develop and review design drawings, specifications, stormwater reports, and calculations
Collaborate effectively with municipal authorities, construction teams, and other stakeholders

Required

Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of Seven (7) years of civil site development & stormwater management design
Proven track record of designing and managing successful stormwater infrastructure and site development projects
Expertise in hydrological and hydraulic modeling, including proficiency in industry-standard software
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively to develop innovative solutions
Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Experience in permitting, interaction with permitting officials and agencies, and resolving comments from such
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance from other engineers
Willing to sign and seal structural drawings in various states
Experience applying an array of stormwater management best management practices and industry standards including surface and subsurface designs such as collection systems, detention/retention basins, site grading/swales, culverts, catch basin and associated gravity piping systems, leaching basins, various site runoff handling methods and related scopes
Experience in developing grading plans and site plans for construction of greenfield and brownfield sites, including all applicable stormwater management infrastructure, balancing cut/fill analysis, erosion and sediment control plans, and details pertaining to construction
Development of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP)
Extensive knowledge in developing pre- and post-improvement plans
Experience with TR-20 and TR-55 modeling processes
Ability to develop and review design drawings, specifications, stormwater reports, and calculations
Ability to conduct site visits and field investigation
Understanding of geotechnical reports and testing pertaining to site development, such as percolation, cut/fill requirements and balancing, and site preparation
Work within a team-oriented environment (with other civil, electrical, mechanical engineers) to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical skills with ability to directly interact with clients and represent the Company
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

Registered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred but not required if candidate has the ability to obtain one or is in the process (EIT or accepted to sit for PE)
Industrial/Utility/Commercial experience is preferred but not required
3D BIM experience valued but not required
Proficiency with modeling software (not all required) such as: HydroCad, Autodesk Civil 3D, Bentley OpenFlows, Other software in the Bentley Suite (StormCad, CivilStorm, MicroStation/OpenSite Designer, etc.), Other programs used by USACE such as HEC
