Principal Production Support ME - Special Process (Onsite)
Pratt & Whitney is a leader in aerospace manufacturing, focused on transforming the future of flight. They are seeking a Principal Production Support ME to support the production of commercial and military hardware, specifically in the Combustors and Nickel Fabrication business unit, while leading various manufacturing engineering processes.

Responsibilities
Lead heat treat process discipline for the HSMC-N – Heat treatment, diffusion bonding, surface treatment and brazing
Lead furnace capital projects to upgrade furnace, end of life components, controls, etc
Ability to work with existing furnace programs and create new ones
Process and product owner for Plasma spray work in the department
Robot programming (preferred ABB)
Support and perform RCCA activities for the department
Special process development for insourcing hardware and development projects
Help build and maintain shop floor work instructions (including specifications, engineering changes, QAD/process control, and tooling definition/requirements.)
Identify & implement shop floor process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent quality turn backs /escapes and reduce overall product costs
Participate in the Standard Production System (SPS) roll-out and initiatives as a Process Engineer supporting daily ANDON’s, Tier Meetings, and Real Time Problem Resolution (RTPR) events. A working-knowledge of the CORE (previously ACE) Tools is desired including Process Certification & Management, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, QCPC/Root-Cause Analysis and Set-Up Reduction/Mistake-Proofing
Significant interaction with the hourly work force, tool designers, quality assurance, Integrated Product Teams, systems designers, Information Systems, and program assembly partners are typical of the position
Provide focused & effective leadership in eliminating EH&S/Ergonomics/Human Factor risks and addressing quality issues
Qualification
Required
Applicable University Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical)
A bachelor's degree and minimum 7+ years prior relevant experience, or
A master's degree and minimum 3+ years prior relevant experience
Demonstrated proficiency leading and managing a portfolio of cross functional projects in aerospace industry
Excellent knowledge of MS office suit, NX, Minitab or/and other statistical software
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in statistics, data analytics, DOE, and multivariate statistics a plus
U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contracts
Security clearance is currently not required but candidate must be willing and able to obtain security clearance (if needed after stepping into the role)
Preferred
Extensive knowledge of thermal processing of aerospace grade superalloys i.e. Titanium, Inconel, Haynes, Waspaloy, etc
Proficient in Plasma spray process - robot programming, tooling, surface treatment, masking, etc
Experience in working with sheet-metal fabrication assemblies - welded and/or riveted, details, machined forging and castings
Experience in thermal process modeling and planning
Experience with the coatings required – specifically Plasma spray
Proficient in using SAP, Solumina G7
CORE/ 6 Sigma Practitioner/Professional certification
Strong understanding of other continuous improvement skills: DFSS, Red-X, Lean, etc
