Responsibilities

Develop and implement the hospital laboratory’s operational plan in alignment with system-wide strategies and objectives
Participate in system governance committees to standardize processes, share best practices, and contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives
Forecast future service needs and recommend investments in technology, staffing, and infrastructure
Oversee daily operations of all laboratory sections (clinical chemistry, hematology, microbiology, pathology, etc.) ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to meet quality, efficiency, and financial targets
Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, DNV, and other regulatory requirements
Coordinate with system laboratory leadership to implement standardized policies, procedures, and quality programs
Facilitate resource sharing and cross-site collaboration to optimize capacity and reduce redundancy
Support system initiatives such as centralized purchasing, reference lab agreements, and digital pathology solutions
Develop and manage the laboratory budget, including staffing, equipment, and supply costs
Drive cost-containment strategies while maintaining service quality and patient safety
Participate in system-level financial planning and benchmarking
Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing laboratory team
Promote a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional development
Ensure staff competency through ongoing education and performance evaluations

Required

Strategic and operational leadership experience in clinical laboratory services
Experience in developing and implementing operational plans
