Instrument Tech - Houston, TX
Transglobal Services LLC is a company based in Houston, TX, seeking an Instrument Technician. The role involves assisting the Party Chief with field data collection, setting up survey equipment, and ensuring data accuracy while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities
Set up and operate total stations, base stations, and network rovers to gather survey data accurately
Load and manage CSV, TXT files, shape files, and stake-out files into a TSC7/data collector for survey work
Proficiently use Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Excel to manage survey files and upload data to cloud servers
Set up field survey equipment for OPUS control points and submit the correct files for NOAA processing
Perform closed-loop traverses, reduce data, and execute trigonometric leveling
Conduct functions such as inverse, resection, staking lines, translating, and rotating coordinates in the field
Read recorded subdivision plats and metes-and-bounds legal descriptions
Execute map checks and determine errors of closure using survey equipment
Locate property corners using pin finders and recorded deeds or plats
Conduct line work according to company field codes
Responsible for clearing topography when necessary to ensure accurate data collection
Calibrate prism rods as needed
Ensure truck is fully stocked and equipped each day for job assignments
Adhere to safety protocols to protect personnel and equipment at all worksites
Qualification
Required
Candidates must reside in Houston, TX or be willing to relocate
Assist the Party Chief with proper research prior to going to a job site and operate applicable instrument data collectors to accurately collect field data
Set up and operate total stations, base stations, and network rovers to gather survey data accurately

Ability to perform fieldwork for extended periods, sometimes in adverse weather conditions
Must understand and follow oral and written instructions
Preferred
Experience with Trimble GPS equipment and Total Station
Land surveying experience is a plus
