Human Resources Coordinator and Administrative Assistant

The Human Resources Coordinator and Administrative Assistant will support HR activities, ensure effective handling of employee concerns, and maintain accurate reporting while promoting a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

Assist with all aspects of employee relations and support day-to-day Human Resources administration for site employees
Maintain accurate employee records and follow up on employee questions and concerns
Facilitate onboarding sessions for new hires, guiding them through company policies, Human Resources procedures, and organizational culture. Ensure timely completion of all required employment documentation
Support general administration of compensation and benefits
Report and distribute key site statistics and indicators as prescribed by the Site Manager
Participate in Human Resources projects to support corporate initiatives at the site level
Assist the Site Manager with administrative tasks as needed
Ensure timely and fair handling of employee concerns and support health and safety assessments and escalations
May be required to work and travel outside of normal business hours
Other duties as assigned to support efficient site operations

Required

Relevant post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a strong sense of discretion and professionalism
Proven ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively across all levels
Adaptable and proactive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
Committed to supporting a positive workplace culture focused on fairness, inclusion, and continuous improvement
Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support both administrative and employee-facing tasks
1–3 years of experience in a Human Resources-related role
Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and its application in the workplace
Experience in recruiting, payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Preferred

Experience working in both unionized and non-unionized environments (an asset)
Exposure to workplace committees and employee engagement initiatives (an asset)
Experience with payroll systems and timekeeping processes (an asset)
