Senior Interior Designer
AvalonBay Communities is an equity REIT focused on developing and managing distinctive apartment homes. They are seeking a Senior Interior Designer to lead design for new development and renovation projects, ensuring that every space reflects quality, innovation, and functionality.
Responsibilities
Lead design for in-house projects, including new developments and renovations (Capital Projects and CapEx)
Drive all phases of design: schematic design, design development, construction documentation, furniture specification, and construction administration
Manage design processes to meet project schedules and budgets
Prepare and review construction documentation; oversee construction administration and design execution
Select commercial grade furniture and manage procurement process
Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to deliver exceptional results
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Interior Design
8–12 years in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field
All phases of interior design, strong technical knowledge, and excellent communication skills
Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, and MS Office
NCIDQ required
Commercial codes and ADA regulations
Preferred
LEED accreditation preferred
Occasional U.S. travel
