North Carolina State University is seeking a Research Technician for the Intracellular Pathogens Research Laboratory. The technician will process bacterial and mammalian cell cultures, and perform various assays while requiring computer skills for data management.

Responsibilities

This technician will process bacterial cultures, mammalian cell cultures, and perform molecular, serological, histopathology and in-situ hybridization assays for the Intracellular Pathogens Research Laboratory (IPRL)
Computer skills are required for data entry, result reporting, data summaries, and responding

Qualification

Molecular biologyHistopathologyLaboratory skillsBacterial culturingMicroscope competenceInterest in veterinary medicine

Required

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work
Previous experience in a molecular/histopathology/research laboratory setting

Preferred

Four year degree in Biology or equivalent related experience
Benchtop laboratory skills, i. e. pipetting, culturing bacteria, microscope competence
Prior experience or interest in human and veterinary medicine research are highly desirable
