Responsibilities

Support and review multi-state indirect tax compliance, including sales, use, property, and excise taxes

Prepare, analyze, and reconcile large volumes of transactional tax data across multiple systems and Excel

Compile and analyze data to provide to third-party compliance providers for return preparation

Perform manager-level review of indirect tax filings and supporting workpapers prior to submission

Research tax scenarios and provide recommendations related to NEXUS considerations

Assist with VDA requests, audit responses, and related documentation

Participate in and support an upcoming Vertex tax engine implementation, including data validation and testing

Collaborate closely with internal tax, finance, and IT stakeholders in an onsite environment

Required

Bachelor's degree required

Strong experience in indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions (sales, use, property, excise)

Demonstrated ability to analyze, manipulate, and report on large data sets using Excel and various source systems

Experience reviewing indirect tax compliance at a manager or senior consultant level

Hands-on experience researching tax issues and advising on NEXUS matters

Prior involvement in VDA processes and audit support

Experience with tax software like Vertex and Avalara

Comfortable working 4 days onsite in a collaborative, fast-moving environment

Preferred

Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation preferred
