Responsibilities

Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate general ledger records
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements
Manage Accounts Payable, including invoice entry, vendor communication, and payment scheduling
Monitor Accounts Receivable and support past-due collection efforts
Prepare period-end journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close
Support preparation of financial reports, budgets, and financial analysis
Maintain organized documentation and support external audits as needed
Assist with audit requests and other financial reviews
Stay current on accounting standards, financial regulations, and compliance requirements
Process accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll for all employees
Review and validate timecards, hours worked, PTO, and other payroll inputs
Enter and maintain employee data, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, and personal information updates
Administer voluntary and involuntary deductions such as benefits and garnishments
Coordinate payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Prepare and support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 and 1099 processing
Maintain confidential personnel files and employment documentation
Respond to employee payroll questions and verification requests professionally and promptly
Ensure payroll and financial transactions follow company policies and regulatory standards
Assist with benefit contribution reporting and coordination with retirement plan providers
Support workers’ compensation, unemployment, and compliance audits
Stay up to date on payroll, tax, accounting, and employment-related regulations

Required

Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (Bachelor's preferred)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping and/or payroll
Strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll processing
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/payroll software
High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

Experience with multi-state payroll and benefits administration (a plus)
Payroll certification (aPHR, CPP, or FPC) is a plus
