Sr. Quality Systems Engineer

The role involves managing quality systems, addressing customer concerns, and assisting with continuous improvement functions.

Responsibilities

Act as customer point of contact for all customer communications regarding processed or in process product. This will include active use of customer designed systems and databases for submission of deviation requests and other customer notification functions
Assist with requesting and communicating with customer source inspectors
Communicate customer concerns regarding quality packaging, product issues, or general quality concerns after product shipment. This includes, but is not limited to, the maintenance and issuance of returns and complaints
Maintain and integrate all active quality systems for return and complaint processing. This will include email notification, internal portals, customer portals, and accounting documentation. This requires coherent communication between all systems to ensure all requirements are met from open to closure
Identify, interpret, and apply customer requirements to active and shipped products. This person will be trained and required to use customer specific references and general PCB specifications
Interpret and analyze customer requests. This will include communicating with customer for clearer understanding and follow-up questions to assist the quality department in addressing customer inquiries
Use in-house tracking system to monitor remakes resulting from customer issues or changes. This will require communicating effectively between manufacturing, process engineering, and front-end engineering
Analyze product and returns to establish preliminary investigation for issues, as described by the customer or internal bodies. This will include communicating findings within the quality department, manufacturing, process engineering, front end engineering, and the customer, as applicable
Assist in continuous improvement functions, such as: corrective actions, preventive actions, failure analysis, and other necessary action formats. This includes acting as an effective liaison between TTM functions and the customer. This will require investigating the issue, compiling evidence, and formatting written communication of actions. This will also entail follow-up and verification of action items
Assist in process verifications, such as SPC data generation, Zero Defect Plan (ZDP) maintenance, and internal process auditing. This will include reviewing, interpreting, and applying data and quality system specifications to ensure company processes meet industry standards
Procedural updates and follow-through to ensure all improvement changes are consistent within quality process documentation and that appropriate personnel are trained to these changes
Documentation audit and approvals. This includes auditing and validating quality packages to ensure deliverables are present and accurate. This will include uploading quality packages onto customer portals, as applicable
Establish format and generation of AS9102 FAI reports
GD&T – Understanding customer blueprints and correlating requirements to physical product measurements
Coordinating outside service for customer specific requirements

Required

Able to read, write, and communicate in English, to the extent necessary to perform the job functions
Experience in Quality related activities and/or customer support
BS in an Engineering discipline is highly desired. Can substitute minimum 5 years' experience in the printed circuit / assembly industry as an alternative

Preferred

Continuous improvement capabilities are a plus (Zero Defect, PPAP/APQP, Gauge R&R)
Understanding of statistical analysis is a plus
Understanding of printed circuit accreditation programs (NADCAP, AS9100, ISO, etc.) and MIL compliance is highly desired
