Carolina® Science is seeking a Lead Systems Administrator who will be technically responsible for maintaining the security, stability, and integrity of the company's computing and storage infrastructure. This role involves providing technical guidance to junior staff, managing security on endpoints, and supporting desktop issues as needed.

Responsibilities

Functions as primary compute and storage professional for Carolina
Independently configure and maintain Carolina's physical and virtual servers and storage
Independently maintain and manage Carolina’s virtual platforms
Independently manage Active Directory as it relates to hardware, users, groups and policies
Along with the other Systems Administrators, manage security on endpoints (Anti-Virus/Firewalls)
Independently configure and maintain Storage Networks to include replication and disaster recovery
Ensure server/storage devices have power protection
Perform all backup and recovery tasks as it related to the intel environments
Support Carolina's help desk by managing assigned case load and offering technical support where needed
Secondary support all PC hardware and software
Support for Carolina email systems
Maintain technical expertise by keeping abreast of the latest technology advances and suggest avenues to maintain technical skills
Perform administrative duties as required
Perform project related duties
Perform other duties as requested by management

Qualification

CCNP certificationMicrosoft operating systemsVMWareCitrix desktopTechnical guidanceDesktop supportLeadership experience

Required

Four year college degree or equivalent experience is required
10+ years experience with computing hardware and software
Leadership experience required
Skilled and formally trained with Microsoft operating systems and server/desktop software
Skilled and formally trained on virtual server and desktop software preferably VMWare and Citrix desktop

Preferred

CCNP certification strongly preferred
