Athletic Assistant
NEOGOV is seeking an Athletic Assistant to assist with programming and athletics activities for children aged 4-15 years old. The role involves providing customer service, coordinating events, and ensuring the efficient operation of the recreation facility under the Horry County Parks and Recreation Department.

Responsibilities
Assisting the Athletic Coordinator, District Supervisor, Operations Manager, coaches, and volunteers with the day-to-day needs of athletic programming
Helping with programs at the facility, including games, crafts, special events, childcare, athletics, and community events
Overseeing, coordinating, and assisting with the activities of all rentals and programs at the recreation facility
Ensuring that the recreation facility is opened and closed, and secured, each day at the appropriate times
Providing friendly, timely, and responsive customer service
Utilizing CivicRec software to register customers and process transactions
Processing transactions, handling credit card and cash payments
Receiving and receipting reservation fees for programs
Ensuring proper operation and maintenance of the facility and its equipment, and ensuring that the Center complies with safety policies and procedures
Initiating and supervising safety measures for all activities
Coordinating programs and activities with other departmental divisions, County agencies, community organizations, and the general public
Assisting with setup, cleanup, and storage for programs, including performing light custodial duties such as trash pickup, sweeping the floor, wiping down counters, etc
Monitoring and enforcing policies regarding the use of the public building and park lot
Maintaining a consistent record of building use and updating the supervisor as needed
Performing general clerical duties as needed, including typing reports and correspondence, copying and filing documents, etc
Receiving reviews, preparing, and/or submitting various records and reports, including accident reports
All other duties assigned related to the job
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
1 year of experience in the Parks and Recreation or building operations management field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience providing the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
Knowledge of preparing and assisting with recreational programs, athletic activities, clerical skills, and coordinating recreational facilities
Demonstrated customer service and conflict resolution skills
Desire to contribute to a team environment
Ability to quickly adapt and learn computer programs, including the use of online software, word processing, financial, and registration software
Critical thinking skills: the ability to problem-solve under challenging situations
Ability to follow directions and take on responsibilities without being tasked
Preferred
Associate Degree preferred
