Responsibilities
Design civil/structural systems, structures and components
Assist with modifications to existing equipment, systems, structures and components
Provide technical support to the Civil, Mining and FKC – Lake Shore Divisions
Assist with project planning and technical quotes for systems, structures and components
Ensure compliance with safety standards related to civil/structural systems, structures and components
Assist in responding to site-based requests for information, including analysis and recommendations
Prepare and present project documents including calculations, drawings, specifications and reports
Travel to site, as needed
Qualification
Required
Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
A minimum of 3 - 10 years of work experience, preferably in a field related to underground construction and/or mining
A licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or able to register as a licensed P.E. within 2 years
Experience in design of reinforced concrete structures and steel structures
Proficient in preparation of structural calculations utilizing structural analysis software and hand calculations
Demonstrated logical problem-solving skills, including conceptual and analytical skills
Advanced computer skills in spreadsheets, word processing, and database software
Preferred
Geotechnical engineering and/or support of excavation (SOE) design experience is desirable
Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor software is desired
Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis software would be an asset
